Hello everyone, 
I'm going to build a PC for Sonar X2/X3 Producer in the $3,000 plus range.
 
I've kind'a narrowed it down to the following (of course I'm open to improvements) but I need exact recommendations for each piece of hardware to ensure maximum compatibility with Sonar X2/X3 Producer.  I'll be using either the Roland Octa-Capture or the Focusrite 18i20.  I'll be using an 88 key keyboard controller.  I'm a singer/guitarist/keyboardist and I'll be mostly working alone in my studio.  I want to do most everything "in the box" but I may opt for a hardware control surface or a touch screen at some point soon.
 
I'll be buying from NCIX in Canada (they have a great website, check it out) so if you could list the exact hardware pieces that would work best, I'll be forever in your debt.  I don't mind going more upscale on some of the pieces if there is not a huge price jump and it must be super quiet!
 
1) OS drive (128GB or bigger)
2) Demanding libraries drive for Komplete 9 etc. (256 to 512 GB SSD or bigger)
3) Work drive 7200 RPM 3TB (WD Caviar Black or better)
4) Motherboard (brand not sure) all SATA 6, with the SSD's on Intel controller/connectors & the work drive on the Marvell controller/connectors (or better)
5) Intel i7 IvyBridge Extreme CPU 4.5GHz (or better)
6) 32 GB RAM (brand and configuration not sure)
7) Dual head graphics card (brand not sure)
8) Two 24" (or bigger) LCD displays @ 1920 x 1080 resolution (brand not sure)
9) Silent Mid Tower (brand not sure)
10) Power supply (brand not sure)
11) Windows 8 (version not sure)
12) Other stuff (not sure what exactly)

Hi, It may be worth asking Jim Roseberry @ studiocat. He is an expert in this area and I believe he offers a consultation service for a tiny fee and it will guarantee compatibility.

well first comment is your interface options are not low latency.
I recommend win7 NOT 8
 
Sata 600 only matters for the SSD drive period
ram is very very picky on socket 2011 you need DDR3 1600 1.35v high end quality
buy the 4930k not the extreme processor they over clock the same
at bare minimum 700w power supply like coolermaster quiet series

Sorry but I am not sure what thread you are referring to.  Also I am not sure what it is you are asking (assuming you are asking a question) thus I am at a loss as to how to respond.

My post was based on you not mentioning that you had already asked Jim for advice which I couldn't possibly have guessed. I didn't understand your reply back to me based on that fact.
Still, just a mis understanding.

If it's truly silent you are after and also an alternative opinion then I can do no better than recommend solidhawk.co.uk who are renowned for super silent audio PC's. Although they are London based, they are a great company and I'm sure they will offer you the advice you seek.

In my opinion, a $3000 budgets warrants a professional build as in people that work day in day out with audio PC's.

I see how the confusion arose.  You did not start your sentence with the word "I"  leaving me to wonder if you were asking asking a question, notwithstanding the fact that you ended your sentence with a period.  Thanks for the info regarding UK PC builders. I live in Canada, it's part of the British Commonwealth's final remnants.

Just one comment I'd like to make, go for 3 internal hard drives:
 

• Os & Programs
• Sample Libraries
• Cakewalk Projects

If your budget can stretch to it, SSD's would be ideal for bullet points 1 & 2. Use your WD Caviar for your Projects
Also, don't neglect some form of backup drive(s). External HDD's are great for this purpose, and don't EVER go for any sort of "green" drive anywhere in your system
