Wow! That's amazing.

Xeon based DAWs offer no real benefit for 99.9% of end users... and the cost sky-rockets vs. socket 2011/X79.
How many end users need more that 64GB RAM and 12 virtual cores at 4.5GHz?  
 
Got a call from a composer in LA who had a local person build a VE Pro Slave (via LAN) to use along with his Mac Pro.
The local person built a Xeon based machine using an EVGA motherboard with a non Intel LAN controller.
Impressive specs... cost a lot... but doesn't work for the intended purpose.
 

I'm obliged for the insights everyone! I've decided to go with a Jim Roseberry built machine as compared to NCIX Canada.  The pricing difference is insignificant plus the service & support, BIOS/OS tweaking, installation of Windows 8 & Sonar Producer X2 etc. plus disk imaging the whole thing makes Jim's machine a clear winner for me.
 
I was pleasantly surprised by Jim's high level of courtesy, support and professionalism, and once I receive the unit I will provide a report for y'all to absorb.

+1,000 for Jim Roseberry at StudioCat! I recently used his consultation service to assist with rebuilding my custom DAW. Worth every penny and then some. Jim rocks!
