Hi,
I was thinking that Steven Wilson might want to re-master that album ... it sounds kinda plain now.
Btw, you need to play this as is, listening to it from the tube, and then on a FM Radio station with a great signal ... the FM sound will come off much cleaner and in a stereo format that is actually better than the album shows at this time.
In many ways, these things were good, but FM radio really helped make them bigger and better. AND, 1971 was a very good time for FM Radio ... which did not start falling into corporate hands until 5 or 6 years more ... and things like BS got taken down, or at least played less, in favor of PF's and many other bands.
Reminds me of Jim Ladd in the early days ... he would open his evening show with a BS piece that was "heavy" and "loud" all the way through, and then do the rest of his show, and the softer stuff came later in the show! But every top of the hour had a "NOISE" folks ... here we go! Good old LA ... but I'm not sure KLOS and KMET are actually remembered any more ... the music lives on ... got that "radio"?
Back to Popol Vuh ... Hosianna Mantra time!
