21 Fret and the standard MIM trem doesnt have the extra 2 mount screws.

Course I was just being sarcastic but Im sure a sthings went into the 90s, Fender pushed off the older unimproved items to their Mexican Models and put the upgrades on the USA models.  Just a hunch but ya know how industry is and being able to justify cost with quality but keep what youve already built in play

Well you guys lost me but at least I'm still on track
getting my opinion straight (for myself) about the
"upside down PU")

The staggard magnets have their reasons and purpose- no gain being
upside down ( my opinion and the best I can gather, popular opinion).
There does seem to be a thumbs up with the reverse slant on the bridge. I may try it someday.

As far as Hendrix and his whys for doing things....not really much interest since I can't talk with him.
I'm glad I spent some  time investigating though....the tone pot used to blend the middle
PU in I think is very cool and I will be wiring one up like that.

That and the one known as the Lindley Fralin blender are two ways of using the blender that
really appeal to me that I haven't tried out....two mods I'll definately set a couple of Strats up with.
