No wonder I can't mix for chit!!! Because I hear bass so predominate I'm gun shy with bass and I simply cannot hear a tambourine, hihat or ride in an entire mix but..... if I solo a whole drum kit I can hear them, go figure. Serious masking time for BaPu and Halloweenie is over.

BTW, I could not even hear 12Khz and 16Khz.

And for my chart, I was using my Ultimate Ears In Ear Reference Monitors with my (turned off) ATM-50s covering them (for better background noise cancellation).

I've been thinking about taking some courses at a local community college to learn something I can do sitting down in a warm office and not having to lift heavy things. I'd like to do recording, but I know my ears aren't capable of producing great-sounding results.
To see how bad it really is, I took a couple online hearing tests.

Shucks. Photobucket has changed some things and the image isn't appearing like it should. Or maybe it's the forum software?

Anyway, it's bad.

I wouldn't trust an online hearing test. The environment is so laced with rogue frequencies and crap waves right now, you'd have to build a new isolation booth and stay in it for a day or two to get an accurate hearing test.
