If you really like the quiet life, you should come down here to FL. I just love the country style living with lots of nature/land/trees, very peaceful (except for my 3 little ones, but it's still a learning transition for them to speak softly) and not too far from the city......best of both worlds!!

Never been there. I'd be curious to see. My wife has, though - one months of rehearsals in Orlando. But since they were working 12-16 hours a day, she didn't get to appreciate the place.

That being said, we're probably here in Vegas until we head back to Quebec. So far. I've learned not to make too rigid plans. Whatever happens, as long as we're together and I have my studio... ;)

That's one thing about moving back in the mountain though. I'd sure miss the advantages of the big city.

Took me forever to get used to the fact that whenever I walked into a Sam Ash to buy something, they had it in store. Spending the first 2/3 of my life in smaller cities and towns, the only option was often to order - and then, only from certain brands.

I remember asking if my local music store could order Line 6 stuff in early 2K, because I wanted a POD. The guy said that they didn't carry Line 6 and that their stuff wasn't all that good, just a fad, and that I'd be much better w/ this:  an old SansAmp.

Rain...., one percussion grenade well placed will quiet the whole situation down. Hell is other people, don't let your neighbors bait you into a conflict. People here might not be as neighborly as elsewhere.

Had the opportunity to meet and talk w/ a few of them - most seem like good people - including the Hendrix-Hip Hop fan next door. I met him when we moved in. My wife told me he even asked her earlier this week if his music was bothering us. My take on it - he's just a kid and I think this is probably is the first time he lives on his own, so he's enjoying it.

As if often the case, the problem isn't really that they're mean or evil or dangerous, but just that many of them seem to forget that there's other people around. That's what's annoying - you can't just hate their guts, there's a decent human being somewhere in there... lol

That being said, growing up as a rather frail kid, and then touring in all those wonderful little towns, I've learned to smell trouble from a mile. And though I became a relatively big guy, I've kept those reflexes. I enjoy a quiet life too much.

Like, the nearest convenience store. I wouldn't let my wife walk alone around that place at night. Lots of strange folks...

There's a lot of ... street business... that goes on in Vegas at night. Some of it relating to desperate people with the gambling bug that just put themselves in the hole and are looking for a way to make it up. Being a 24 hour town, Vegas has a lot of night psychos.

Though I'm still very careful, I was actually glad when I learned that we were moving here - a small condo community w/ walls, gates, security, patrols and all.
