It’s starting to take me a lot longer to get things done.  Finally managed to do a cover of a Porcupine Tree song called Last Chance to Evacuate Planet Earth Before It Is Recycled. …an amazing tune.

Some history…:
In March of 1997, 39 members of a cult called Heaven's Gate killed themselves ("transitioned to the next level"). The leader of that group was Marshall Applewhite (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marshall_Applewhite).

As I tend to do with tunes I cover, I made changes and present it to you with my take on things. Like the PT tune, you'll hear Marshall Applewhite quotes, etc.

Took me forever to do, probably has a bit much competing for the frequency spectrum, but it’ll have to do for now.

And, as usual, am not happy with my vocal treatment…. So, if any of yas have good recommendations, or links to sites that offer some great advice on EQ / compression for vocals, that would be awesome.  Googled it before, and there’s a million sites out there on it; so, am looking for a place(s) to go that this community has found especially helpful.

Thank you!

This is still playing in my headphones as I type this.  This is very cool.  WOW!  Really nice.  A lot of work on your part.  Really cool bass tone.  I am a bass player.  Loving this.  I remember this dude.  Yes, bring his voice up.  Your voice is fine.  Now I'm listening to the original tune.  You did a great job on your version.  Very different.

Thanks for the kind feedback!  It took forever to do!

The bass player for PT is amazing, and of all the instruments I tried to get close on, bass was the one.  Love the parts he played.  Really hard to come anywhere close in replicating a fretless bass via synth; but I tried.

Will bring up Marshall Applewhite’s voice in the mix. (thanks for the tip!)

Wanted to track live drums at the end, and make it really loud and rock out, but that would have killed my ears doing that (I have significant hearing issues), so I opted for the chill tune and drum loops.  So it is….
