I assume you meant to say will NOT continue to pay after expiration.
Which brings me to my next query/suggestion (something I've pretty much had in the back of my mind for years now in case they wanted to kill the forum for whatever reason).
I have a BUTTLOAD of bookmarks from this site linking to all sorts of useful stuff posted by various, hyper intelligent folks that I reference quite often and even MORE frequently google search the forum for specific topics I'm trying to learn about (yanno... to actually DO stuff on my shiny lightbox).
I know there is google cache but I am not certain a) how that works and b) how it will work in the future.
So I always figured if it came down to it that the Bakers could just hand over a copy of the forum archive files (I mean it's saved somewhere, right?) and then we can see if someone wants to get the software. load the files up and just keep the bugger live. Of course contributions from those who want to see this happen would sustain it.
OR they just hand over the forum archive file thingie to Baps/craigB and they can be an inactive sticky/resource for this new site (and/or any others that pop up).
Essentially this entire forum (which is a MASSIVE resource) cannot simply disappear. It's like a crazy companion guide to the manual.
But one the COMMUNITY created pretty much ALL the content for (and some of us worked DAMNED hard to make this the resource it is). I'd say the content belongs to us and should be relinquished so the SONAR/Cakewalk community can make sure it remains on full display in whatever corners of the internet said SONAR/Cakewalk mushrooms up.
GIVE US THE ARCHIVES!!!
