I tried to quote and reply on a thread here. When I tried it gave me an error. I tried several times, and always the same error. Little did I know but the posts were indeed getting saved, but i didn't realize it until after several tries and I gave up. Now I see several duplicate posts, and i would like to delete them. How do I do this> TIA. 

Ha! This also gave me an error, but this time I was hip to it, and didn't try multiple times! 

You can't delete your own posts, a host or moderator can do it for you though.

You can only edit them. When that happens most folks edit the duplicates to say "Dupe" or "Looped" or whatever.
 
There is a glitch in the forum where sometimes it does that. If you click "Submit Post" and nothing happens just wait a few seconds (sometimes more) instead of clicking again.
 
Usually when this happens the forum screen/view will go "pale/whiter" (but still visible) and then eventually the post will be... uh... posted.
 
Sometimes you even have to navigate away from the thread and come back and then your post will be submitted.
 
This is why Ctrl + A > Ctrl + C (and eventually Ctrl + V if it comes down to it) are important bindings to keep under your fingers around here... even though far fewer posts have been getting eatinated lately.
 
 

It's an immediate error. Has happened every time I enter a message whether it new or a response. So I guess I will just let them delete them or live with the dups. I sure wouldn't want a moderator's job given the state of this forum. Thanks for the response. Now that I know it is out of my control i will forget it.

The "real" answer is you sign up for one of the two replacement forums (Plan B or Beyond Cakewalk - links below) that don't duplicate your posts.

Oh... yeah when that Error thing pops up that's when you want to to a Ctrl + A > Ctrl + C.
 
That would be one of those situations where you want to navigate away from the page and "Paste"/repost if the originally click doesn't work.
 
Haven't seen that one in a while though.
 
Anyhoo... it is in your control to an extent. However, as Monsieur Jimmzo has noted, it may or may not be worth the effort to learn the quirks of this here forum.
 
Yanno... cuz kind of a sinking ship and all by all accounts. I'm still holding out hope Cake will be saved in some last minute schlocko Hollywood style "ZOMG SANTA" style miracle but hey... I'm a also a realist (when I'm forced to be by facts anyway).
