If you have a freezer that's mainly empty you can save $$$'s by filling it with jugs of water or polystyrene blocks or something.
Gotta leave room for the bodies though, ya?

Yes I always leave room for at least two college students, although I might have to thaw one of them out depending on how long this hurricane lasts.

I didn't know they did it with houses too. Cool stuff. Thanks for explaining about it Herb.

best regards,
mike

Not a house.... although people live there. A nursing home and the system I install and service is the "wandering" alarm system to keep the wanderers inside the building. We use 66khz and 262khz active transmitters.....and of course the noise level has to be low because the transmitters are very low power.  This is one of 2 facilities that had severe noise issues and the factory guy with the sniffer commented that he has seen only one facility that was worse than the one we were working on.

We got the problem solved in the end..... but not by reducing the noise since there were just too many sources. Antenna realignment and physically positioning them so they were out of phase with most of the noise....kinda like nulls on a microphone. It doesn't look all pretty.... but....It worked.
