I can't get to my online server from our house DSL this morning.

My wife can see it from her office in town... and she says it looks like it is alive.


Can you see it from where you are?

Hmmm... works from Norway. At least Oslo. My Office.

Weird, my wife can still see the pages in her browsers but she gets the same ping results Karyn has.

Maybe they choose a weird time to do maintenance?

Time for a phone call.

I can get to the website from here and I can ping it.

No luck for me.

"Page not found."  in Chrome.

The site is back up here. The service provider's phone is of the hook.

They must be having a bad day... at least they seem to be on the job trying to fix what ever is going on.

Thanks again for checking... it was very helpful to get some idea what people are seeing.

I imagine service will be spotty through the rest of the day.

 It's a great company... I've been with them since 1996.

 They usually write us in advance and announce that there will be some short outage for maintenance in the middle of the night so I am rarely taken by surprise.


 I have a very small group of e-clients on that server and I like to stay ahead of their observations that there is a problem.

 It seems like the hosting company is aware that something needs fixing so now I can just ride it out.
