..it's election time and we get to hear polls on this that and everything but...

I heard one on the tube a few nights ago and they stated that ...I don't recall the
exact numbers ....something like 47% of the people were in favor of legalizing grass...up
6% from last year IIRC.
I looked at my wife puzzled and before I could say a word she said. "who do you think
they asked?".

Now what's strange to me is that I can ask people all day long and not one will oppose
legalizing it.
Don't get me wrong...it doesn't matter what I think about it. I'm wondering just who in hell
are they polling?

So- when you guys/gals ask do you get people that say it shouldn't be legalized for adults?

I'll be glad when people start doing the talking and taking action in this country instead of
being spoon fed. Learning to talk and walk....guess it ain't so easy huh?

I don't think I know anyone who is against it in my extended entourage.
Except my dad, but that wouldn't count.
Anyway, haven't seen him in over 10 years.

That's coming from someone who doesn't do drugs and doesn't particularly hang out w/ people who indulge. And if/when they do, I don't care.

I think you've answered your question here.

I don't think politics is discussed here because it depends on and if the govmint makes it legal which they will not! No need for polls, they think some people are stupid enough already.

Hi Michael,
I'm actually kind of surprised you don't know who oppose it, or this maybe more of a rhetorical question?

Adults who would (as a general rule, not all) oppose legalization of marijuana:

* drug rehab centers, the owners and employees of such facilities (and even further extending to those who service those facilities such as suppliers of medical supplies and equipment, food service, etc)
* City, state and federal police officers who are employed by or have budgets tied directly to the arrest, conviction and encarceration of those who oppose the law
* (this one is hard to post without offending or at least violating the TOS)..."Conservatives" - this is a large group and while all those who consider themselves "conservative" would not necessarily vote to prevent legalization, the group still includes a large percentage of people who would vote against legalization when you consider "Conservatives" include most "Christians".  And even tho not all Christians are "Conservative" and not all Christians would vote against legalization, it's still a large percentage of people when you consider the ones who would.

determining what percentage of that group which would vote against legalization would be difficult and would most likley cause problems on a "non-political/non-religious" forum.

so, I have to believe that your question is actually fairly short-sighted at least, possibly since you likely do not "fraternize" with people who fall into these categories?
