I can't imagine these two being part of the 53% but what do I know ...

The poll said 53% were against it. I say BS 53% would be a low number in my area...........

North of me it would likely be 53% for legalization.

I think it is past time for an issue of this importance
to be taken to the polls.
I'd like to know the results of a national vote.

If letting people vote to decide on something that
effects our lives everyday is political and violates the TOS then
I apologize and will shut up or be banned....but I don't believe
it's political. It's about people....for the people, by the people.

I'm tired of these hired guns telling us what they found in a poll...it's
time we tell them what we think....everyone...not just the ones they
choose to poll.

Just something I had to get out for some reason. I'm done...except I haven't
stated whether or not I'm in favor...I will say I'm in favor in all the
people having a say and respect the decisions made by all.

It's not really a national law.  states have the right to legalize marijuana or not.

it only becomes agaist federal laws when drug trafficking becomes an issue.

and for the record, I do believe this is a political issue as well as a religious issue.  personally I do not think this is an appropriate topic for this forum.  but I'm not in charge of deciding.

Polls are always inaccurate. How do I know? Because I always hang up on them.

In the USA, privatization of the prison system has resulted in an explosion of incarceration  for relatively minor offences.

Putting people in jail makes money for a lot of people. I was shocked to find out that the privately run prison system is now holding more than 2 million people in the USA. And with the 3 strike rule, if you get busted for smoking pot at 3 rock concerts in the wrong states, you could be facing life in prison.

Bankers around the world break more laws before breakfast and are never taken to task. Does anyone see a problem with this?

86% of all statistics are worthless.

(Including the above.)

Well, anytime ya bring up the "drug" subject, someones going to tell about when they tried it and barfed. There went safe. Public opinion. I've never considered Pot-Maurijuana a gateway drug. The people I knew who used it were already crazy. The pot didn't calm them down, so they tried something else. It's a long story. I've always beleived in the right to self medicate, but most people screw that up too.

For full disclosure, I've never smoked anything in my life (I'm not pure, I just have other vices! ;-) and I don't see any reason why Marijuana should be illegal.

I could tell you a whole bunch of reasons why pot should be illegal but that would only be my opinion and it wouldn't relate to an unknown percentage of those who use it, the right way and the wrong way. I've done both and you can wind up, "not in Kansas anymore", from abusing ( taking too much ) pot. Modifiers of chemistry are like that.
