So today its supposed to be 70'ish with a chance of rain late.

They are predicting SNOW this weekend so Im hitting the yard one last time to move some plants around getting ready for next year.

I think with the mass migration of members moving to Sound Cloud, Ill bring up my account and treat the neighbors to some great home grown music as I play outside today

Hopefully this bug floating around trying to put me down wont show it ugly face and keep me inside.

Enjoy!

We just got back from a week in the mountains. The weather was beautiful there and now it seems real nice down here on the plain.

I really enjoy the cool dry weather that accompanies the change in season.

best regards,
mike

I worked in the yard yesterday.... beautiful day for it.

I pulled up all the dead zinnias and the tomato vines..... then I pulled the weeds and hoed the ground in the flower beds and garden..... then I re-potted the ficus tree which had been on the deck all summer.....

took a nap....woke up to eat  and watched zombies ...

all in all... a good day.  Today is looking good too.

Not to cold over here yet, just beautiful trees with multicolored leaves, I love this time of year, perfect mushroom picking time.

Digged the potato patch in preparation of next year, and put all the herbs inside the greenhouse, frost is coming soon, last year was bad and we lost some old herbs, not this year.

Also put our resident frog inside the greenhouse so he can hibernate in there, he was hopping along in the garden trying to find a good spot, he's been with us for years, big as my fist.

The goldfish from the pond has been fished up and put into their overwintering tank so they don't die if the pond freezes all the way.

Autumn and winter is my favorite times of the year, everything just looks pretty and the smell from rotting leaves and vegetation, there's something Zen about mucking about in the garden this time of year.

Supposed to be in the mid 70's here all week and cloudy ... but 80 ~ 90 percent humidity. It was only 70 in the house last night, but it was unbearable because of the humidity. It still feels muggy in here this morning, but I have to leave soon so I'm not going to open up the windows.

We got a lot done this weekend. The laundry hookup had to be replaced in our new house, as I got further in to it I discovered they didn't glue the drain properly and it leaked. Had to cut a lot of sheetrock and do a lot of plumbing, but my wife helped this time so it went better. She does a lot of plumbing work for her job so it went quicker than if I did it on my own.

We're getting new counter tops next week and I had to take the old ones off this weekend ... whoever built this place back in the 80s had them custom built and they were glued and screwed on. Argh! :-)

So I was stuck inside all most of the weekend, but it wasn't bad. Got a lot accomplished. Have to move out and back in to the apartment today so I won't be around much. We're having the ceilings worked on and can't be here while they are doing it. The temp lease is up on the apartment my wife was staying in while we were looking for a place, in less than 2 weeks. We have to move everything from there this weekend to our permanent residence. Hope the weather holds up. It was supposed to rain today but they changed the forecast. Who knows what will happen by Saturday.

I like autumn but I am not really ready for snow yet. This was two years ago. Last year wasn't so bad.

The worst thing about heavy snow is that we have a large greenhouse, so when it really comes down (ALWAYS starts at bedtime) I have to get up a couple times a night to go get a rake and pull all the snow off the greenhouse roof or there's a risk it can collapse under the weight of the snow.
