So, Spandau Ballet will not go over well in Oklahoma?

It might, depending on "the audience". Will that be in a chicken wire bar?

I swear that if I see one more cover band play Roadhouse Blues or the female equivalent, Bobby McGee, I'm going to grab all the beer bottles I can reach and start hurling them at the band.

There's some good choices listed here but these two IMO should be laid to rest.

Roll With The Changes by REO Speedwagon always got a good response when we played it.

I feel that way about Mony Mony, Long Train Runnin', Johnny B. Goode.

Bobby McGee - totally.

Roadhouse Blues - I was lucky enough not to be exposed to it all that much. We did cover it a few times back in the early 90s, and I've heard one Doors tribute band play it, but I guess I was lucky enough to be spared.

In many cases, I wouldn't blame the bands playing them though, but the audience.

I remember when I started working as a DJ and Nine Inch Nails' Closer became a hit (at which time I had already heard it too often) - people (mostly girls actually) asked for that song practically every night I was working (6 nights a week) for well over a years. Sometimes I'd have to play it twice a night.

Cinnamon Girl, Like a Hurricane, Powder Finger
Moondance
Iron Man
Money
Ramble On, The Rain Song
White Rabbit (things get weird after that one)

Some of these I like for guitar and some for bass.

The Rain Song

Some of these I like for guitar and some for bass.

As much as I like John Paul Jones, I'm betting that you dig this one because of the guitar. ;)

Amazing song and lots of fun to play. Never had the chance to play it live though.
