I need a new tower and checked the DAW Labs pages here, the HP Z series - Z200, Z400, Z600, Z800 - were recommended.  I looked into these and I believe they have been discontinued.  Any updated recommendations for HP towers?

I'm looking at the HP ENVY Phoenix 800-060 Desktop Computer which has these specs
3.40 Intel Core i7-4770 Processor16GB DDR3 SDRAM1TB 7200rpm Hard Drive4 x USB 3.0 / 6 x USB 2.0 PortsHope I'm not breaking any rules!

I have been shopping for a new computer and every where I looked, they were either too expensive for my pocket book or not enough hardware. I ended up having a new computer built locally. I get service after the sale and a new friend to boot.

No more 'off the shelf' stuff for me thanks.
Either have Studio Cat or ADK build you one (you can call and explain to them what your needs and budget are and they will do their best to work with you.) They both have great tech support and both Jim (Studiocat) and Scott (ADK) frequent these forums.
Or you can do what a few of us here have done and build your own.
Not that hard to do actually and if you shop around and watch for sales you can get a kickin' machine for fairly cheap.

The PC in my specs below was in the $1000 range but only because I decided on a quiet case, some higher end cooling and SSD's.
If you don't mind a little fan noise and realistically a 7200RPM drive is more than sufficient to run sonar, you will cut costs by a few hundred $.

+1 to what Mike said.....Jim & Scott are THE DAW guru's.

I went the solo route as I do enjoy the rewards of learning to fix it myself.....I'm also just an amateur hobbyist, and was able to put together a very nice machine (IMHO) with the help of a lot of good people in this forum........especially Mike.
