There was...may still be... a company selling a kit on the net where you build a ribbon mic..... pretty cheaply too....IIRC....

you know if ewe were miking that alambic base threw a big azz speaker  running a million watts you could have broked it...


I think he reversed the flow of electrons causing it to be a speaker instead of a mic and it wasn't rated for 200W @ 8 Ohms.

Summpin to try when I get it repaired.

Don't know Craig. I'm apprehensive about opening it up. Which leads me to wanting to drive the 46 miles to take it in. I'll call first and maybe they will repair on the spot.
