The obvious ones are of course A and Am but can you name anymore?

I was told by a very wise old geezer man that once you reach AM, one's life is complete. I'm half wAy there.

I was once told by a rather sexy female at 4am in the morning that I should keep on going until I felt all sussy. Whatever that means.

Asus2, Asus4 and a B7 just to get life started before we think it's already over.

Chords went out of fashion in the 70's.

Depends on the instrument. If it's a dulcimer or a 12 string guitar the answer is none as they are out of tune all the time.

That's what one of the older boys told me anyway......

I believe that if played correctly (as a passing tone) an A note could be played under/in/around/on top of ANY chord.

Or, did I just make that up?

Not sure what you were expecting.  Does it have to be an "A" or can it be a G##?  Or a Bbb?  What about A# or Ab?  There's 19,320 chords just in the Ionian (Major) scale alone.  Many use an "A" note.  What are you looking for?

Some friendly interaction and creativity.

You're right it could be any note.  Why complicate things even more.

Have you ever tried putting a different chord to the same note in a melody ( * which as you point out could be any note) and felt how it changed the style and feel of a piece.

Ever tried a Bbmaj7 instead of an A to see how it changes things over an A vocal melody note (see *)

Sorry to suggest a thread that may spark some creativity but if you cant be friendly then why bother to contribute to a thread.

May I apologise for not being able to live up to your expectations. Thanks for making my experience on the forum a sh*t one.

If you play guitar like me A ends up in every chord whether I want it there or not.
