I wrote a fretboard chord/scale utility for the Amiga years and years ago. It was awesome. One of the things it did was, if you clicked notes on the fretboard, it would tell you every possible chord those notes were part of, as well as every possible chord that could be created from one or more those notes. It would totally win this thread. All I need is to install an Amiga emulator and sort through tons of junk to find the CD it was burned on.

Meh.

I think I've still got a 1200 in the loft. IIRC it is fully kitted out with a massive 20mb hard drive and 16mb RAM, all stuffed in that tiddly expansion bay at the bottom (now literally bulging). It was some machine in it's day, some would say still is. How I wish the OS had continued though.

I have a 1200 with HD back home in England somewhere. Top quality machine indeed. The Amiga was the beginning of serious computing for me.

Sorry to suggest a thread that may spark some creativity but if you cant be friendly then why bother to contribute to a thread.

May I apologise for not being able to live up to your expectations. Thanks for making my experience on the forum a sh*t one.

Whoa, where did that come from ? I don't see anyone being unfriendly. Maybe unfortunate that you had to pick Am of all things to start a serious debate in these parts, which is always going to lead to some silliness (aka humour) for those who frequent the place on a regular basis, but that aside I fail to see why you've got your pants in a tangle here. Lighten up a little fella and you'll see that everyone here is pretty harmless.

was once told by a rather sexy female at 4am in the morning that I should keep on going until I felt all sussy. Whatever that means. Asus2, Asus4 and a B7 just to get life started before we think it's already over.

And then he posts this ::

Paulo,

Think you completely missed what that was replying to. It was in reply to  -
"
Not sure what you were expecting.  Does it have to be an "A" or can it be a G##?  Or a Bbb?  What about A# or Ab?  There's 19,320 chords just in the Ionian (Major) scale alone.  Many use an "A" note.  What are you looking for?

Musicman100,

You actually got that quote in the wrong order. That was in reply to a different user and was posted before the quote you are referring to.

...so your contribution is totally inaccurate.

Yes people can be friendly and people can be a pain in the so and so.

Some people like to take a thread off on all different tangents whereas others like a thread to be a half sensible thread.

You've gotta at least get some rapport with the person who is posting the thread before you go off on a tangent. When you do go off on a tangent it looks like you're trying to sabotage a thread without at least showing a little bit of respect.

Think we've been on the cakewalk forums long enough (over 4 years) to know that some people just wanna be a pain right from the onset.

...and no. People who regularly hang out in the coffee house don't run the rules about how everything should be replied to.

were you actually attempting to foster a serious theory discussion on chord structure? Sometimes the CH gets pretty deep, but you did include the Am reference, so unless you knew better, it was fair game. Perhaps the topic sentence structure fouled me a bit.. warm regards, MM

Erm, no...because I can read. I just happen to think that you have your panties in a tangle about nothing much.

......and yes, I agree with you that it isn't up to anyone else to decide how people should respond. Yet you are complaining about the way people respond, because they don't respond in the way that you wanted them to?

Maybe you should look up the meaning of 'Thread'

Sorry Paulo but I really cant be bothered to get into a handbags at 10 paces squabble.

I dont agree with you so we'll just have to agree to disagree. Youre a big man going on about getting panties in a tangle considering I haven't actually used  abusive language in stating my opinion.

Exiting the drama now.

Ha ha - whatever mate! No handbags here -  as I recall it was me who was trying to explain to you in the first place that there was no "drama" intended by anyone here, just humour ? So much for trying to help avoid confrontation  ;)

Anyway, go and have a beer or something and cheer up a bit !
