I may not observe Halloween, but I don't mind Halloween gigs. What other occasion prompts legions of otherwise upstanding ladies to get drunk and dress like harlots? If there were more skimpy French Maid outfits worn for Easter, I'm sure it would be more popular.

Ahhhhhh yes... the ever popular Halloween gigs.... yes...I must concur with your assessment.

We played a Halloween gig at the Montecito Country Club near Santa Barbara, oh, 1981 or so.
One guy's 'costume' consisted of just a jock strap.
Sonny, the singer, remarked, "you can smell the brown."
