btw ... I'm not making that up, the town is actually called Peculiar. :) Although we don't live in town, we live way out in the country.

I looked it up online and the story goes, the guy who wanted to settle this area submitted a couple of names but they were rejected. He got mad because the kept rejecting his name submissions and finally sent a letter the postmaster general saying he didn't care what name they picked as long as it was a "peculiar" one, so the postmaster general submitted the name and it was accepted. Doh!
