October 3rd...I've just spent another day in T-shirt and sandals, still sweating my ass off because it's warm and humid.
Tomorrow it's more of the same.
Friday it's sunny and in the 80's.

Please please please stop it. I just want walk outside with a jacket and shoes on and feel that sweet sweet cool dry air on my face. And God knows I could use the extra pockets.

I feel your pain.

Up in the 90s pretty much all week here - but at least, no humidity. Still, going out for a walk isn't an option.

I'm a suit and tie guy (okay, loose tie, but still...) My wardrobe is 99% black. I don't own a single t-shirt. I prefer wearing boots.

Though we bought a few things to make sure I wouldn't suffocate out here, I'll feel more comfortable when I can put the desert island clothes away for a while and get back to my usual attire.

I can handle pretty much any temperature as long as it's dry....after all, I can sit in a sauna quite happily for an hour (although it's not recommended).

The humidity makes me irritable. You're always wet. You never feel clean. Your skin feels prickly. You feel the sweat dripping down your back and down your butt...urgh. And to top it all off I have sciatica/piriformis type pain in the lower back which humid weather seems to aggravate.

Shoes....sweet sweet shoes....I have not worn a pair since, quite literally, May.

Hot weather clothing is so boring. You're options are greatly reduced. Hmm, shall I wear the green t-shirt or the brown one. The plaid shorts or the denim shorts.

Heck, should I wear any clothes today at all?

Yeah - us Brits will swap you some of that.  We've had a crap summer with the exception of maybe, oh, 3 days?  Paper this morning threatens more than a month's rain in the next 48 hours for us southerners, while those up north are still mopping up after the floods from last week.

T-shirt and shorts - what are they?

We are having our first real deep summer-like days here since last month's little episode ....

Well... here in NC, heat and humidity are the norm. So now....add to that mix a swarm of gnats and throw in a few... no, more than a few mosquitoes and you have a typical NC day.

The gnats are so bad they we have had serious discussion here in this small town of having a Sims NC Gnat Day Festival...... Almost every town has some sort of festival day so we thought why not celebrate our gnats?

We're not as friendly as you think... we're simply shooing the gnats away and you thought we were waving to you....

On second thoughts, I could do without the mozzies, excessive damp patches in embarassing places, or prickly heat rashes so maybe our temperate climes aren't so bad after all.  I have to go to India in January for a week, so hoping it won't be too bad then.  The injections list alone is making me super nervous as even the thought of a tetanus jab puts me into a dead faint lol.

Brings an odd observation form a northerner - I'd swear there's a lot more bugs around here since a week or two than there were when we arrived, early September. I spend most of my time outside since we've arrived and I've just started getting mosquito bites...
