Drinking apple cider vinager will help to ward off mosquitos, believe it or not it comes out of your skin pores and mosquitos hate it. It is also healthy if it is unfiltered. West Nile virus has been reported in NJ and a few places closer to here.
Apple cider vinegar is healthy in
very small quantities. However, remember that it's a vinegar, and that drinking too much of it will eventually harden your liver (more than liquor will). It's also very acidic, which is not a good trait in the context of a body which favors alkaline conditions for health.
Alternatively, you can just leave the vinegar out in a bowl and it will have the same effect on flying insects. I used to live on Nantucket and during the summer most of the bars would have this faint whiff of cider vinegar that they'd left out to annoy the fruit flies.
