Digital transfer is the only way to go. Firstly you avoid the D to A in the DAT machine and the A to D of your interface. Also if a loud sound comes along you don't know about you will clip on the way in. Do it properly and stop being lazy!

The DtoA is using the DAT deck's old convertors.

I'll bet the convertor in your Sound Blaster is better than the converter in the DAT deck.

Just sayin.

See!  I told you.

If you don't have a Toslink input then you have the cable already, everyone has a stereo coax lead lying about somewhere, you'll only need one half of it.

And do it in Soundforge, Audition or Audacity instead then the sample wont be assigned the tempo from the Sonar project and you can export it at whatever sample rate/bit depth is convenient for you.  Preferably in it's original form.

Set input to your digital and press record in sampler, press play on ADAT machine.

Simples.

Even you can do it.

You got DAT right.

Are you gonna replace the drums and emulate a con-soul on yer catalouge?

First I gotta check 'em all with ARC 2 before I make those heady decisions. With pure digital copies I should be able to make more educated decisions, no?

I was gonna ask if you turned the ARC off before making the transfer... but then I remembered you were swimming up the stream.

If some one tries to sell you an un-dither plug in, just look straight ahead and pay no attention.
