I've been trying to find an excuse to post this since I found it so futz it. Here we go.

Some folks have been asking me what "Hardcore" guitar playing is. Well here is one of the originals... Greg Ginn going apeballs live with his band... Black Flag.

This is an entire concert (or maybe a couple stitched together) and to be considered extremely Not Safe For Work due to the following...

1) Swear werds and general yelling/noisiness/angstiness

2) Henry Rollins buttocks and his usual half naked creepy sweaty guy undulating

Okay... you've been warned... now enjoy

So now that I've successfully posted that check out the bass player.

That is Kira and she is playing that psycho crap with her fingers... no pick.

Oh... I'd also like to point out that I think Black Flag lyrics are generally moronic.

The riffs are good though.

Beeps, I have Black Flag's Damaged album. Very raw, very enjoyable. I enjoy listening to Henry talk about music, he really seems just as passionate now as ever.

Oh, ya. I figured you'd had some BF experience under yer belt. Just wanted to post that because it's a really cool performance.

I actually found a cassette of this show in the garbage (along with a bunch of other crazy old punk/hardcore tapes... I think someone got evicted or something). One of my favorite punk recordings and I think it beats a lot of the studio stuff simply because it's so crazy sounding.

When I found this vid of that show the other day (which I had no idea existed) I nearly plotzed and have been listening to/watching it over and over again ever since.

As far as Rollins... eh, I think he's kind of a silly bastard but he does/did what he does/did rather well.

I think I've told this story here before but one time when I went to visit my mom like ten years ago we were hanging out in her den and as usual she's got the TV going. So we just shooting the poop and I'm playing with the dog and whatever and she gets all excited and says "Oooh! Have you seen this guy? He's my favorite new comedian!".

It was Henry Rollins doing his weird spoken word/standup comedy special thing.
