I'm crossing fingers for a Mac version of Vegas. I didn't even seriously try to find an equivalent because it's so unique - everything looks counter intuitive by comparison. And considering that Sound Forge for Mac has now been announced, well, maybe my dream will come true.

You hear that Cakewalk? ;)

Yeah, I saw that. I've loved Vegas for years but it's been a while since I've upgraded. I was so happy with Vegas 9.

Have you installed the 64-bit version? Is it up to speed in terms of codecs, plugins etc now?

LOL...I'd have to be up to speed to answer that wouldn't I? I can say that in the past I not
only felt they were up to speed but also setting the bar. I don't believe 12 would be any different.
Yes I installed 64 bit version.

I've never had an issue with an of their plugs- audio or video. I can't remember off-hand how far
I go back with it..thinking @'94.

He he perhaps

I've always loved Vegas for it's excelence and ease of use. But I'm still using the 32-bit version of Vegas 9 and have been using Vegas since v4 IIRC. I've been reluctant to upgrade to 64-bit because I've heard people have struggled with codex and some plugins or whatever. That's not Vegas specific though, I've heard that from Premiere users and people who do video on 64-bit windows.

But, it's 2012, the world is about to go under. I'm sure they've made a working 64-bit environment by now. I might upgrade, I want to do more video work

OK, had a read on the product page - it fully supports 64-bit stuff and seem to be very 64-bit focused with this release. I'll definitely upgrade sometime before Christmas

Cheers!

Well I heard 11 was a bad trip for many and 12 is getting a lot of very
good things said.

Others views are always a trip for me. No different than here with versions.
Some have troubles for whatever reason and some don't. Workflow, gear...etc. a lot
of factors come into play.

Then there's always the mystic....some machines sometimes don't like a person any
of the time....weird but true. Maybe software is like that too. :)

Ya know...little kids and dogs are that way...sometimes there's a person they just don't
care for...everybody knows but nobody really knows why. lol
