The Maillard Reaction

Having some fun listening to 1920's jazz today and stumbled on this recent homage recording. The "sound" just dropped my jaw:

Are there any recordings you like that seem to immediately grab you and make you feel like you are hearing something special?

It's astonishing that they hold up after so long? Or that they were even recorded?

Mike -
I know this is an obvious one but there are several Beatle's recordings that still amaze me.
The clarity and warmth on 'Michelle' or "'Norwegian Wood' still stand up today and they were recorded nearly 50 years ago.
The other that always gets me is 'Baker Street' by Gerry Rafferty - listen to the mix - it's amazing.

Now I know what I'll be listening to tomorrow.

Thanks Daryl!

Yes pity it doesn't stream.

I like the idea of simply clicking and the file plays back.

Seems like a simple idea to incorporate in a post this day and age.
