I've done that 'self-moving' thing before, I'm sure it took 15 years off our life expectancy.

Never again.

Take good care of each other.

Bub
Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

It's a been a rough few weeks. We almost killed ourselves moving out of our place in IA because the people who are buying it wanted to move in asap. Turns out, our agent had us sign some documents via fax that the purchasers lender required the original of, with original signatures. Now they are saying because of that delay we can't close until sometime in October. We were supposed to close Sept. 17th. Two problems, one, we want/desperately need our money from the sale, and two, we didn't have to ruin our health rushing around. We ended up having at least 2 more weeks to move.

And I have to go back to IA to boot. The barn where my wife boards her horse got foreclosed on and the bank sent out a notice that everyone had to be out by next weekend. They only gave 2 weeks notice. Even though it is just a barn, I didn't know they could evict you in only two weeks. What's even worse is, the lady who owned the place has been pocketing everyone's boarding fees since July, 2011. She hasn't paid the bank a dime since then. Unreal. I couldn't lay my head on the pillow at night if I did something like that.

@Jonbouy: I agree, I will never do this again. I'll pack the stuff, but next time, I'm hiring people to move everything. The $250 I spent for two guys for two hours was nothing compared to the fact that I'm sucking on an inhaler now, on large doses of antibiotics, and if I don't improve in two days I'll have to go to the hospital. And not to mention the fact that I probably took a couple of years off my life. My wife said the guys were 10 times quicker than we were and had the entire trailer unloaded and everything in the house in less than 2 hours. Well duh, it was two burly guys who do this all day long for a living. Of course they're going to be better and quicker. :)

@mgh: I'm really sorry to hear that. :( I hope everything works out ok and you get out soon. You definitely have it much worse than I do.
