I gotta say, X2 is looking really good.

I'm enjoying it Craig.
There's some things to be worked out though.

Unless the future holds something very special in store I'm thinking
this will be my last upgrade.
It's seems to me it's all reached a point where the software has
more capabilities than I need.

With that perspective it's inspired me to learn X2 inside out...many things
I've spent very little time, if any at all, I'll get into.

It does look nice and I like the interface improvements. I'm just going to watch for a bit before I get involved. It would be nice if I could buy the repaired versions of the x64 plugs. I use them regularly and would appreciate the improvements.

One thing I've finally learned, time is on my side, no need to get hurt in the stampede.

I started playing with it last night (shameless plug) but I didn't dive into all the new stuff. But I did get a good feeling of what it is all about. Have to say, I'm really liking it. Some teething issues here and there and a lot I'm not used to in terms of tools and work flow, but I had no problems adjusting as I went along.

And to me, it's a whole lot easier on the eye with the black clips in the Track View - nice touch!

You're all so lucky.

I'm stuck in Asia for 2 weeks so will have to wait until i get back to install.

That being said the download speeds in the hotels are amazing (fast).

My internet at home is still down.   So much for downloading a day before everyone else!

The cable guy still hasn't shown up?

I'm holding off until I get Win7 and I don't have any issues with X1. What I'd really like to do is build a 64bit machine first to house X2, but that'll take some time.

Jerry, be happy. You have something to look forward to and Cake will be just that
much closer to working out a few wrinkles.

I'm still trying to work out- do I send in the reports that the program does for me or do
I do what Bapu said to do upstairs and put them in his thread?....I let the program do it but
wonder if that's the right thing...decisions, decisions....

The Maillard Reaction
X2 seems like it is a great improvement over X1+.

I'm waiting for color customization... I can't view the X gui without thinking I've already gone blind.

I'll use 8.5 for a while longer. I'm waiting for something to improve GUI wise before I waste any more money on X.

If ProTools 11 64bit comes out before that I'm going to have JimR build me a new super computer running Win7 64bit and do what all my friends have advised me to do for the past 15+ years. I'm gonna, begrudgingly, join the club.

I'll keep SONAR 8.5 on it as well.

I really prefer using SONAR as it's got the right mix of audio and midi features for a demo studio, but if I can't see the screen... what's the use?

I have my fingers crossed but I think it's probably obvious that the committee that made the GUI isn't going to give up control and let anyone mess with their aesthetic.

best regards,
mike

You know...the color thing makes no sense to me.

I know it must be a big think because I see a lot of mention about it but
I like the way X1 looked and like X2.
The color that it does have seems just right for me.

Maybe Cake should team up with Windowblinds?
I can see where a bubbling jukebox theme could possible help some lay down
some good tracks.
