With my current evaluation I can't see anything else
that could be offered that I need so I posted the question
of what could be offered to keep my business because I can't
see my continuing to spend for needless additions.

I started this new thread because I have a new outlook.

I've been feeling that they would have to come up with something
very special for me to keep riding with them, which I'd like to do.

Well I have it.

Let's assume that X2 is the last version that one would need. I know...but let's
just go with that.

Now imagine that I run the business and I'm talking with all the bakers....
Well boys...what next? You tell us boss. Ok I will....

I want three teams assembled.
One audio. One midi. And one I'll tell you about in a minute.
First off- I want the audio, midi and everything in the program to work. If there are bugs of any
kind I want them eliminated- period and here's why....

We're going NASA boys....
We are going to make 3D instructional videos and there will be no detail not covered.
Now I want you to watch this NASA 3D video of this astronaut installing this piece of hardware
in the Space Station.
Every single move is written out for him. He follows each detailed step.
As a viewer the experience is amazingly real. One feels as if they are right by his side
and feels they too could perform the task when completed.

Now what we are going to do is this-
We're going to make a 3D instructional video of using X2 from the beginning to the end of
a tune, radio ready, of a three piece band first.
There will be nothing prepared it will be done from scratch to completion.
If X2 has notation then at the end of the project I want to see it. I want to see each individual
part printed out and I want to see the score complete with all percussion. If there are vocals
and X2 will handle lyrics...I want to see it.
If it's an audio track I want to see one using whatever they choose, such as Melodyne, to give
me the transcription.
I want template creations and drum maps procedures included in detail- the same detail that
NASA includes down to torque on the little screws.
Don't be telling viewers what they can do...you show them in detail. You make them feel like
they are turning that knob.

Gentlemen...the day has come to show our customers that X2 not only works but to show it
in detail. We want our customers to know not only that we provide a product but we provide
everything except the talent to create music.
Limit this first video to keyboard and mouse use only.

Another thing Gentlemen....everything in our program better work and get ready....the 3 piece is just the beginning.
Oh yeah....there will be a small fee for viewing the instructional videos in HD and HD 3D.

LOL....well what the heck...we can dream can't we?

That sounds like an interesting idea.  Are we talking Andy Serkis in one of those suits with the ping pong balls attached for CGI tracking?  Very ambitious.

The Maillard Reaction
3D tutorials will help the folks that get confused with all those pesky VST windows floating around.

Here's my prediction... Cakewalk will spend the next 8 years promising to make Take Lanes work with the convienience, power, and flexibilty of Layers.

Then Cakewalk will roll out a newly invented feature for 2020; "Layers".

I'm looking forward to watching the ride.

Moooooouh.

I could have watched NASA without 3D. Why did they film it in 3D?
Why would you think of only the screen?

I envision a real life experience.
I want to be the eyes and follow them in to the room and sit next to them
and have them start the PC and watch them use everything from the get go to the
end.

I walked out of my house last Saturday morning and starting preparing to spend the
day on my Harley Softail with my wife on back.
I've been thinking about getting a helmet cam so I could share a ride here but anyway...

Now our lives depend on that bike doing exactly what it is suppose to do. It is suppose
to function and respond to my control.

Why should X2 be any different?
Do you think those guys would be nervous to record them performing with X2 and all it's
functions and posting the UNEDITED video?

Could they walk up to their X2 with the same confidence that I do with my Harley and load
my wife on back?

Well it's easy enough to prove. It's all about ability and performance. You can or you can't.
And when you put your life and your wifes life on the line you better have your act together.

Well Cake? Do you have your act together? Prove it. Go live and use what's in the package.
And take a rider along in 3D.

I'm not being unreasonable. They've been getting a lot of money no different than Harley-Davidson got a lot.

I like it when people have to put up or shut up.

Hey Mike, just out of interest, have you checked out the excellent VIDEO produced by our very own Karl (aka FastBikerBoy)? He goes into a lot of detail on virtually every aspect of X2. I consider myself quite a quick learner, but my taking the information on board depends a lot how it is portrayed. Page after page of technical manuals don't really do it for me; I find them great for using as a 'reference' tool, but not as a 'learning' tool. I appreciate the difference is subtle, but I think it's valid.

From what I've watched so far of Karl's video, it's clear that it's been really well thought out, and the information is presented logically and clearly. And because it's in video format, it's easy to run the content on one monitor (and being able to pause/rewind etc at will) while having X2 open on my other monitor so I can actually work through the ideas presented. I find that, for me anyway, this 'hands on' approach to learning works really well.

Cool idea. Again, I'd certainly pick up a lot from something like this.

Haven't they done something like this for previous version/s of SONAR?

All I want for X3, (it could even be an X2 expanded patch), is the console view rendered in 3D.

It would be a kewl gimick if it supported 3D displays, but just having the console displayed on screen as if a real console were sat on the desk infront of me would be great.

+1 Steve.

I too like to learn from the tutorials running on one screen and Sonar on the other as I did this with a lot of the Groove3 video's.
I'm glad to see the endorsement on Karl's video (thanks) and will be getting that along with X2.
