They don't care about the do not call list, they are hustlers trying to get your money. Close one office down and another springs up. Been going on for years.

I don't receive as many now from that group and someone else stated that to release your phone line, just press "3" on the pad and hang up. Otherwise they are still there even if you just hang up your phone. Works for political calls also. Release my phone line, (expletive here)!

I had my home phone disconnected 4 years ago after realizing I hadn't used it in 2 years. I've had the same cell number for 11 years and not a single spam call. Problem solved.

I've been trying to get my wife to do that but she won't because the kids might need to call collect.  you can't call collect on a cell.

The govt is too busy with other "more important" things than to chase spammers on phones. Besides, they can easily use call centers outside of the US to make calls. 

I get lots of this kind of call and a bunch of others that are "would you like to donate to help children with cancer at christmas" kinds of calls. 

I simply hang up on them all. If I donated to them all I'd be broke.... because they do sell their "hot list" of donors to other like minded companies. 

My Mom apparently was a sucker for this kind of call. My brother has changed her phone answering machine message to specifically tell the telemarketers and church groups to remove her name and do not call back, as well as anyone selling any product or service. It must have been really bad. 

I simply use the approach to not answer calls of numbers I don't know. Voice mail works for people that actually want to talk to me. It's an amazing tool, really.

I also make use of call block.  doesn't always work where numbers are blocked, but it has helped with some.

I have a business line and I don't think biz lines can be on the do not call list but I signed it up anyway. I still get some calls and while I do have caller ID...... many will not ID the number or say blocked number.....and since it is a business line, and it might be a caller needing my services, I have to pick it up... but I have no problems putting the handset back down either on a telemarketer or a robocall. 



Our NC state Attny general told me that robocalls are illegal BUT... they don't have time to chase the company behind the calls.   If I'm feeling particularly  evil.... I will ask the called to hold..... or repeat..... Hello?... hello? .... hello? while the other person is yelling CAN YOU HEAR ME?   then I hang up. 



Oh yeah... and I really love the calls that come in and on the caller ID it shows up as "SCAM"...... duhhhhh!

they will care about the do not call list if you report them enough times..i did.

i had that "this is your captain speaking,you just won a cruise"
(loud cruise ship horn going off)
calling me every day.i reported them over and over again.it stopped.

see you go to fill out a complaint,for me its the mass do not call list.
if you dont fill out the complaint,nothing happens.

We havent had a land line to the house since those bag phones came out uhhhhhh, i forget how long its been

Not sure if my iPhone has it or not but I had a phone that if it wasnt a recognized number programmed in, they went straight to voice mail.  Might have been a droid or the Windows phone.

I just downloaded iOS6 and it has a Do Not Disturb feature that I think has a similar option to block them now

Yes you can set it to let ALL CONTACTS only have calls come in, all others go to mail
