Since I haven't had much time to make music recently I've been dredging up some of my unfinished or abandoned projects and giving them a quick tidy up/edit and running them through Mixbus. It's amazing going through all those half finished projects and thinking "oh I was quite enjoying that one, why did I abandon it?" This was originally called something else but seeing as how I just watched the old Mike Leigh movie "Meantime" the other night I decided to rename it after a line in the script.

Here I've made extensive use of Geist for the drums, as well as various Reaktor synths and Waves Element. It's a very simple mix, only two effect returns (reverb). I also added some creative degrading with RC-20 Retro Color. As usual, I'm never fully happy with the way anything sounds on Soundcloud but thankfully they seem to have gone a little easier with this one.

Stuck it on YT as well for hopefully a slight improvement in quality:

Sounds OK here James, is this now considered finished or do you think you will rework it some more?

Mic comes across nice and balanced.  Thanks for sharing.

Thanks John. Yep pretty much finished, time to leave it be and go onto other things...this was just a quickie. I may go back and do something about the harshness in that opening synth lead though - I had changed the sample rate to 96kHz in Reaktor and I think it added something nasty to the sound. Not that I didn't deliberately go for "nasty" in a lot of other sounds in the mix mind you

Thanks David! I'll take that as the good "sick"

Cheers Baps, I try not to take myself too seriously as you can probably hear!

Works for me.  The lead synth tone is a little "stark" in the first section, but I think that sorta adds a bit more depth when everything else kicks in.
