Thank you for helping so many of us with recording problems, and sharing your knowledge with this forum!

Thanks Craig for all that you have done and continue to do for Electronic Music (the genre, not the magazine - wait ... yes ... the magazine too!) Like others here, I've been a follower since the Polyphony days. Back when I was starting out in electronics, those kits of yours gave me motivation to learn how audio circuits worked - and it all took off from there. Thank you for that!

I also wanted to thank ANDERTON for all his help over the years.
I know my relation with the man was not perfect, but I would like to thank him as he also was one of the most helpful people on here, whether we saw eye to eye or not.

I am sure he is a decent man, I know he is. His song "Daughter" says it all.

Upon first listen, it send shivers up and down my spine.

Thank you for everything Anderton.   Even if Sonar has some "bugs".  :)

Your post is a very pleasant surprise, and I greatly appreciate your saying that. True, we didn't always see eye to eye but I was never angry with you, only very frustrated that you seemed to constantly encounter these mysterious and intractable problems and while sometimes I could help, sometimes it seemed there was nothing I could do.

But again, your sentiments are very much appreciated and mean a lot to me.

I really hope you can find a great DAW that suits your purposes to a "T" and that you can make some GREAT music!!

Oh, and thank you for mentioning "Daughter." It's a true story. I've already picked up the pace of releasing music on my YouTube channel, in case you're interested here's the latest...it's not public yet, so it's a preview.

Craig was one of the few bright spots to the Gibson acquisition.  Losing Seth and Brandon after the Roland sale was huge but having someone like Craig with his background and experience stepping not only boosted our community, it got us thinking differently trying new ideas.  From the webinars he did to the tips on the forum, he really went above and beyond.

While Ive only been at this DAW recording and using Sonar for about 5 years now, what I especially appreciated,  aside from his wealth of knowledge, is Craig's ability to relate to the simple man, and bring things way over my head down to my level of understanding. As well as his better have a "Snickers" bar approach in dealing with unruly posters, until that fails, his ability to put them in their place eloquently. LOL.

Thankfully there is still Harmony Central, and website, and still hope (I think) for Sonar's resurrection in some capacity, even if just maintaining its operation as is now. (I be willing to subscribe to that).

Cheers

In the early 90's, the keyboard on my Commodore 128 finally cratered. With it went my Dr. T's music software and all my projects.

With tears in my eyes, I found myself standing in GC to buy some PC midi software and interface. It was a toss up between CW and Steinberg. Cubase appeared to have more features but it was about $30 more. But I had read an article from Craig about CW. I bought CW.

Damn you Craig Anderton!
