Well, Uli Behringer likes to buy things.......just sayin'. They could use a DAW to go along with their U-Phoria series since all they have is Tracktion.
 
 
 
 

Behringer dropped Tracktion awhile ago and think it was bought back by the original developer. 

I use a couple of Adobe products, like Photoshop and Premiere Elements.
Like the programs, hate their business model and tech support.
I'll pass on Adobe.
I'll go for MicroSoft or any major hardware manufacture that could couple DAW+Control Surface.

Or even Akai, Focusrite or ... er...Roland? ;)

I agree.
We rent all Adobe products for about 700$ per year. We are working with Adobe Audition to render thousends of files. But I think only pro's would pay this yearly.
SONAR was too cheap.

The flip side of all these complaints about Adobe is this:
They run a very profitable company; they're growing, they have navigated the changing digital landscape perfectly. From a strictly business standpoint, they are the opposite of how Cakewalk was run.
An Adobe-owned SONAR would likely be safe from extinction.
 
That said...why would they bother to buy CW?

Noting the late wotk they had together, I wish that so big Microsoft company will buy Cakewalk.
