hey Strummy,

Wasn't that the best amp ever when you bought it a year ago?

What are you getting next?

The Marshall Stack?

:-)

best,
mike

Roger that.

Dave Barry can cut through the mix better than just about any one else that I've met.

Egnater Rebel 20 stack.  Yum.

I have an Egnater Renegade.....18 watt or 65 watt switchable....
By far one of the best tube amps I've ever used - AND the most versatile..

Not cheap though....$1100.00

Eventually I'll have to buy something REALLY serious so looking at the nice stuff helps too... and it's always fun to look at gear candy. I'm just kind of plotting out what's gonna happen in the next year or so. I'm digging all the new sims but they just aren't quite there yet. If I have some ideas of what's currently on the market I can research a little more easily. I'm pretty much completely out of the loop in regards to new amps and companies. I've been relying on old school stuff for so long that that part of my knowledge base has fallen to the wayside. Seriously guys, thanks a ton. Now I've got a decent starting point.

I was never a fan of those larger stacks because I like the tone when you drive both the preamp tube and power tube 6l6. By the time you get there with most stacks, you've got everyone’s ears ringing.

You say that like it's a bad thing G

Man... that Fender Champ 600 is really a little beast, isn't it? Under $200 too. How does it respond to stomp boxes? Like a Boss Blues Driver or Metal Zone or some of the MXR stuff? Cheers.

I've been gassing for one of these:  http://www.traynoramps.com/products.asp?type=3&cat=63&id=436

A used Mesa Mark III might work for you.

It's funny how popular Traynor has become. They've always been great amps but up here in Canada they were super cheap alternatives to the big names. I guess they've finally gotten the attention they deserved. Sadly they've spiked in price too. I've been using old beat up Traynor gear for YEARS. I used to love the old tube bass heads for live guitar work. I'm really considering that little Champ 600 though. The weird thing is the only online source for Canada seems to be Amazon and they have it listed for twice as much. There do seem to be quite few for sale used and I see references to people snagging them for the correct price at some of our chain stores.

I picked THIS ONE up a few months ago.
It's nice because on the 1/4 watt setting you can crank it and get the full tube sound without going deaf.
