offnote, actual discussions I can find quite interesting, and enaging as such does hone one's skills, hopefully one's listening skills.  If one is only honing one's ability to argue one's own point, that, most often, excludes actual listening, as one is honing one's own position while the other is speaking.

Talk radio, OTOH, generally does not hone one's skills, as conversation is one-sided, with the "host" determining the rules of the discussion, and always getting in the final word.  He (or she) who frames the debate, frames the discussion and almost always thereby determines the outcome.  That, to me, is not real discussion.  If one doesn't allow for the possibility of being influenced by the other person, no real discussion has happened.

I was on another forum where they discuss some of the things that we avoid discussing here, probably for good reason. These guys are so uptight it makes a size 20 underwear look big on Santa Clause. Anyways, I noticed that my creativity is going downhill. I know where I am and feel good in my own skin but I have been called into question on why I feel the way I do. I don't know if you have ever been at that place where you know you know and you know why you know but someone else wants facts and figures. and no matter how many you provide they want more. Is that the definition of insanity?

No that is the definition of being a cakewalk forum monitor and discussing the virtues of VST3

I'm feeling a lot better today. Amazing what a weekend on the ocean will do!!

Worked on a few tracks last night, nothing special but at least I could think again.

Some of those forums can suck you in and I was sucked into it. I was  set up and after I saw what was happening there I thought that I could still talk to those people. Not a chance and not worth my time. Life is too short to mingle with miserable people and allow them to make you miserable. Didn't do much for their cause/argument either.

We all have a bad day here and there but a few of these guys were perpetual grouches. How can anybody stay that unhappy for that long and not pop a gasket? I am not letting it rub off on me.

I wanted to say...dude, take a few nice long breaths....nice and slow...there ya go R-E-L-A-X.

If they need to try that hard to make their argument something doesn't seem right. If you feel comfortable in your position then what other people think about it isn't as big a deal, know what I mean?

Mark twain also said,

"In religion and politics people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing."

"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt."

" it is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled"

"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first."

All this leads me to believe that you can't fix stupid, or at least it is very hard to do so!
