Case in point.. all the yapping about Notation, CW/Roland will NOT make a SIlibus embedded version of Sonar...they said so in so many words...
 
NOW gapless audio, or editing improvements ... yes..ALTHOUGH I am just a dinky weed user and NEVER had issues with workflow, features,I realize other users are different. Yea. Sonar has crashed for me till I fixed the issues, and yea , I wha wha on the forum before I put my big boy pants on and took control of my destiny and fixed my issues...

I find it interesting that he mentions elsewhere that he feels accepting a management role at Cakewalk was a decision he regrets.



My wife was recently presented with that opportunity after newly arrived upper management fired her immediate manager and supervisor for reasons amounting to the fact that he knew the role and practical limitations of the department while the new head honchos didn't.

With my coaching she quickly went out and found another, better, coding job at another operation. More pay, better atmosphere and no managing duties.

Subsequently 13 other folks, all but from 2 in her former department, made similar transitions within the span of 4 weeks time. Many took jobs she was offered and declined. She served as a reference for her former colleagues.

Now the former department is hemorrhaging money using highly skilled stop gap contract help while trying to find anyone that is willing to work under the new management regime. One guy who was brought in to replace her boss for lots of money stayed for 2 months and quit.

Sometimes it's time to know that time is up.

I convinced her that it was completely out of her control and that it would never get any better once the bad decisions were initiated by the upper management.

I think that in many cases an accelerated schedule of renewal like that is the most effective way to run through a cycle and return to something functional.

I had to remind my wife that walking away wasn't a reflection on her but rather on the entire operation that had become ineffectual due to upper managers that had no idea what the department really did for the end users.

In fact after leaving, in a consultation she provided for one of the instigators of all the bad ideas, the person openly admitted, "I had no idea what you were all doing down there."


Now the former employees from that department enjoy meeting for luncheons and comparing notes about how happy they are with their new jobs and lifestyles.




I hope Bob is doing well. I always admired his professional attitude. As a 10k+ poster, I imagine he didn't care for mine. :-)

I hope he enjoys what he's up to now and has great success with all his endeavors.
