I had some troubles with early ESATA stuff and now I'm superstitious about it.

Are there any cables that are better than others?

Is cable length a factor for performance for ESATA? I've been thinking of getting two 6 foot cables but could make do with shorter if they work better.

6 foot ( 2 meters) is about at the long end of the specification.
