I still remember where I was, what I was doing, and who I was with when it happened.

RIP.

Let us remember everyone we lost.
Let us remember everyone who dug through the rubble searching for survivors.
Let us remember everyone who has fallen ill from inhaling the dust of the wreckage.
Let us remember everyone who fights to keep us safe.
Let us remember.
Let us heal.

RIP.

My heart aches when I think about it.

God bless those affected, all.

I was awakened by a panicked (then) spouse. The whole day (and many after) were surreal.

I was working deep inside a data center of a hospital on the south side of Chicago.  We didn't have TVs, so we listened to it on the radio and watched it on news web sites.

Shock and horror.

When we watched that second plane hit the World Trade Center, it was a punch in the gut that defied belief.

I was working security in Quebec. I was awaken by an emergency phone call to get in the office asap. I had no idea what was going on until arrived and people told me. The whole thing was surreal, almost as if the world was coming to its end. We were in orange alert mode for the week, and yellow for the rest of the month. My brother who had just gotten in town was hired for security on the spot on 9/12.

That was in good old Quebec, Canada. I can't imagine what it felt like for you guys here in the US.
