You should get some cheap cat food and put a bowl out over there.... IMO. Then you will have a neighbor who owes you and will always remember it... just saying.A little good will goes a LONG way.

+1. Being kind and compassionate is also good for the soul. Bowl of water too would be nice.
Just be sure to put it in her yard so the kitty doesn't become yours.

PS. I really hate dogs but would NEVER allow one to suffer and/or starve if I had any way to help.

Though I do love dogs as well as cats. And pretty much anything w/ 4 legs and fur, even if only from a distance in many cases. :)

I actually thought about cat food last night..   but didn't have any...   water didn't occur to me....   and I do not live near any stores that were open, at the time I posted this...

Even walmart is quite a drive, and it just, "didn't occur to me."

If the cat whines tonight, I will fetch food from 7/11, but I have a good mind to think the cat has already walked off somewhere, as I haven't heard its meowing....

Ahh ... so you've seen the wedding footage of Bapu and Mooch slow dancing eh? 4 legs ... fur ... sorry for going there. I was regretting it myself halfway through my post.

Cats take care of themselves ... if it's meowing, there's more wrong than it just being hungry ... unless it's a kitten.

Have you seen my 'Dogs 0 Cats 2' thread? Heh.

I don't dislike cats, but suffice it to say I don't like them either.

Especially when they come into my yard to use my flower beds and garden as their personal litter box. At one time, our neighbor had approximately 24 cats living around her house. She was old and thought they were cute. My back yard was their litter box and it was not pleasant to set on the deck in the evenings as the stench of cat floated on the breeze.

A call to animal control nailed almost half of them in the first 10 minutes the traps were set. They were hungry and the officer was able to pick many of them up as soon as he set the traps down.

We have the occasional stray wander in. As long as they do not stay, life is good. I have chickens and when the cat takes an interest in them for entertainment value..... the cat must go somewhere else.
