Hi all, Sorry to have been away so long, but I hope it's true that it's better late than never this time. Here's something new .... that's about all I can think of to say about it so far :) except, I hope I'm on the right track (pun intended, ouch!).

Brilliant. As in, your total disregard of normal song structure is simply brilliant. Verses are 8 bars, and you put up two of them. Then a Chorus for another 8. Back to a verse of 8 bars. Big decision time: another chorus, or maybe a short bridge? then end it with a chorus maybe 16 bars if it's decent. Fade out.

But no, not you.  :)

I very much enjoyed this road less travelled! I wonder if you couldn't put some old-timey violin lead in there occassionally, to supplant the flute, which is panned, but not pan. Just a thought . . .

Hi Tom emeraldsoul

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'll definitely consider putting a fiddle on there. Wish I'd thought of that earlier - it would probably hit the spot just right.

You're always so supportive and you probably can't realize how much it means to me. I'll just say thank you very much.:)

Do you use band in a box?  How do you get such a great backing track!?  As always Mr.e sounds cool.

I liked it. Yeah, a fiddle would work nice, but I like the flute too. A winner either way.

Wookiee, thank you for saying that - I really admire your work and value your opinion and appreciate it very much.:)

FreeEarCandy, thanks for the nice comment!

Hi eph221, it's great to see you again! Thanks for your thoughtful comments as always.
To answer your question, no, I didn't use band in a box, I just played the parts myself. I think I did the tracks in this order:
1. Simple drum beat from EZ drummer @ 148 bpm, kind of a shuffle
2. Acoustic gtr
3. The other acoustic gtr
4. Bass (played on my old Fender)
5. Voice
6. Tried to improve the drum track by adding details
7. Flute patch - Passion Flute in Kontakt5
8. Tried to mix and master - ha ha good joke, I know :)

The whole thing sounds a little wobbly on SoundCloud, cause I'm on the ultimate cheapskate (free) plan.
There, TMI I'm sure.

I'm off to catch up on what you all have been up to lately. I'm really looking forward to hearing as many of your songs as possible.

Definitely quirky, wonderfully creative, and a treat to listen to.  I always enjoy listening to your postings.

This is a pleasant diversion from the same ol' same ol'. Years ago I played with a killer lady bassist who would sing " Daddy's All Star Joint" by Rickie Lee Jones followed by a jazz dance routine that also kicked. You make me think of that style and really caught my attention. The breathy, sensual vocal delivery is the icing on this sweetly baked cake. I'm going to climb into your cupboard and sample the other delights I'm sure are there. Great work, thanks for the treat..Ron

kinda made giggle.....nice work. Not a huge fan of the vox processing but somehow it fits the quirkiness of the tune. Fun and creative.....

Good tune!!!
