Like the odd meter a lot. There is a "live-y" feeling thats nice, specially with that lovely vocals. A unique style indeed!

great stuff Ms Lampshade - it reminds me of something from Transformer by Lou Reed (one of my faves)
I would love to see/read the lyrics

Thank you for those kind words, Leizer . I appreciate that! :)

daryl1968: Thank you, too, for your nice comment. As far as the lyrics go, if you really would like to read them (are you crazy? :) ), here they are:

1.      We’re becoming all we want to be, got to be you and me
Fear’s befalling, calling tauntingly, haunting me, Mr. E
I tried to put you in my song but now the words come out all wrong
No matter how they twist and turn they don’t belong

CH:     If only we can find the key to you and me
Open up our hearts and set that bluebird free
Open up our hearts and/to find Mr. E

2.      Time, a century can’t work it out, turn about history
I’m so shaky, wobbly, full of doubt inside out, Mr. E
‘cause even though our love is strong, we seem to take each other wrong
No matter how we toss and turn, it won’t be long

CH [as above]

Br:       All the world’s come unraveled All the world’s breaking up
Why don’t we take the road less traveled, you and me?

 3.      If you find the mode to ease the load, sing to me if you please
If we lose our way along the road, cling to me, Mr. E
It isn’t right to end this way if in your heart you want to stay
After all we’ve said and done, it’s one sad day

CH [as above]

I always enjoy listening to your work Laura, and I can only apologise for not listening to more.

Next time I'm sat here, slaving over a hot PC, I'll stream as much of your page as time allows

In the meantime, I've managed to listen to both Mr E and No Way Back... Two lovely tracks. You music is always full of fun and it makes me smile

cheers

Yup, we're back at Laura's Skinnybones cafe.

It's got a happy vibe, swinging, and just cool...  There aint no missin' your songs!    Oh, and loved that ending.

When I started listening, I though it was about your cat (on the avatar pic) and I was thinking there was a resemblance to "Martha My Dear" by the Beatles (McCartney), but no matter.  The music is very cleverly arranged and I love your smooth vocal work.  Yes, you are on the right track.

Hi synkrotron (andy),

Thank you so much for those very kind words.

You know I'm one of your followers, too, and it means that much more coming from someone I admire. It makes me even more grateful to know that you took the trouble to listen to two tracks!

That may make you a glutton for punishment, but you're a very kind one, so there's that.
