I like it, not sure what to make of it. While the guitar parts aren't very complex, and the vocals are rather ruff. I like the combination.

Thanks for sharing, Enjoyed hearing this!

Yup, we're back at Laura's Skinnybones cafe.

It's got a happy vibe, swinging, and just cool...  There aint no missin' your songs!    Oh, and loved that ending.

stevec, such a nice thing to say and such a nice way of saying it... hmmm, Skinnybones' Cafe, what a thought :) By the way, I never expected that anyone would even get to the end, never mind comment on it. Thanks very much, Steve :)

When I started listening, I though it was about your cat (on the avatar pic) and I was thinking there was a resemblance to "Martha My Dear" by the Beatles (McCartney), but no matter.  The music is very cleverly arranged and I love your smooth vocal work.  Yes, you are on the right track.

That's a really nice thought about writing about the cats - I did write (a pretty bad) one about an imaginary adventure they had and also have a silly little ditty that I sing whenever I brush the little brown one you see in the avatar. She pretends to like it so that I'll keep brushing :)

Thanks so much for your kind comments, Johnbee58! :)

You're welcome.  I just changed my avatar to a really good one of my poodle (not showing up yet).  You say your cat loves to be brushed.  Just the opposite of my Ginger.  She can't stand to be brushed!

I'm sorry to be late to this party, but I'm glad I made it.  You have something so unique that it shines on your recordings.  You know how to produce your vocals very well, and your quirky taste suits your voice to a tee.  If I would add anything at all, it would be to add an instrumental break or interlude between one or two parts just for flavor.  It wouldn't have to be long, just a bit of spice.  Still, this stands on its own very well.  Encore!

WOW! I wasn't expecting what I heard here. This sounds really great and unique in my opinion. A lot of swing sound and some great song structure. Thank you for sharing this I enjoyed hearing it a lot!!!! Very Much!!! But can I make one suggestion and I mean this in a good way so please don't take this any other way but good at all.

My suggestion would be, with the beat and swing and such, it would be great to do a re-make of the words and make a Christmas song out of it because it has that happy type of vibe sound, TO ME, but that's me and I mean nothing bad by saying that so please don't take it wrong. I mean that as a compliment, so if I sound offensive I apologize, it's just a thought and suggestion. The beat on this song would be so great with a festive Christmas or Holiday type of song words behind it. Just my opinion, it's great as IS though.

Thanks for sharing! Enjoyed hearing this very much!!!

Lynn, thank you very much for your kind and thoughtful comments. You're right, I should have added some little interlude or other for a change of pace, to freshen things up. I didn't want to make it any longer than it already was, but in hindsight, that wasn't the right choice. Thanks again for your kind message. :)

Serious_Noize!, thank you very much, too. That was a really interesting thought that you had. I think you're probably right - it might make a good holiday tune, if it had different lyrics. I would never have thought of that! That's something else this forum is so good for - getting a fresh perspective! :)
