Plenty of fun here, Lynn. Focusing on the lead vocal, I really like the weird delay thing on it. The delay seems to spread out to the edges. I would be tempted to bump the level of the main vocal up, I think it could leap out from the mix a little more, for intelligibility. But I'd keep those vocal delays the volume they are, for if they get louder as well, it might swamp the mix.

I think this is your best vocal performance by far, and one of your most interesting mixes. Colin Hay eat your heart out.

well done!

Steve, as always, I appreciate your kind words and observations.  Btw, the slide guitar is played through a preset in TH3 (bank 1, #5), and I merely adjusted the delay time.

Tom, your words are very encouraging, and I did remix this and boost the lead vocal a bit.

To the rest of you that suggested I bring in the rhythm guitar, I did in the new remix ( http://www.soundclick.com...ongid=13568367&q=h), which can be found in post #1, too.

Great song Lynn, very catchy!

Here would be my suggestions, take them for whatever they're worth*

The synth on the right - pan it in around half of what it is.  It's pulling the mix to the one side and a bit distracting.
The bass seems to be masking the kick (which sounds great in the places where the bass stops).  Maybe run a High-pass filter on the bass to separate the two instruments.
Maybe duplicate those oooh vocals and put on some heavy reverb?

It's really good as it stands, but to me those are changes I'd make.

It is always a treat to hear what you are posting.  As usual you have done an excellent job on composing, performing and producing this song.  I particularly like the lead guitar work, vocals, the background oooo's, and the delayed background vocal responses right near the end.

Terrific stuff my friend!!!

What a great song, Lynn! The vocals, both the lead and the harmonies, are just excellent! The lead guitar playing is also super good.

In fact, all of the instruments come across full and hearty and the overall sound and feel are full of life. (The panning issue that's already been covered is just a minor mixing adjustment.)

Of everything, the lead vocal and those yummy background harmonies are my favourites. You are so talented, Lynn ... it's a real pleasure to listen to your work. Thanks!

P.S. On listening to your second link, the remix, the whole thing sounds even better :)

Matt, I'm really impressed that you put so much thought into this, and it gave me some food for thought;)  Thanks for taking the time.

Freddy, it's always good to hear your kind words.  Thanks a million!

Laura, I appreciate that you listened a second time and your comments.  To be honest, I wasn't sure if I liked this song myself, but I'm starting to gain confidence in it.

Lester, thanks for taking the time to listen and comment!

Really enjoyed this piece for sure....everything move really well and the mix is solid. Someone above said something about the panning being a bit too wide..I tend to a agree that the keys and synth seem to be a bit wide...I'd try to pull them in a bit.

Very cool tune!!

You had me at "REAL GUITARS BEING PLAYED!".

Enjoyed hearing this one very very much!!!!  I would just add some treble and a little less bass on everything in all honesty.  But that's a personal preference I guess. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed hearing this one very much!!!

@thepogue and Serious_Noize!, thank you both for taking the time to listen and comment.  You both pointed out the  panning of the synth, so I'll address that issue.  I'm still somewhat undecided on this point because I panned the rhythm guitar 75% Left and the synth 75% right for balance.  I don't consider that too wide, personally, but I know many do.  I want to avoid clutter in the  center like I hear so much, now days.  That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.  Does anyone agree with me, or should I pull these parts in?  I'm curious to know.
