Way too early to tell, but I actually have a forum I created back when we thought the Coffee House was going bye bye.  Bapu, Strummy and Jan (RIP!) have already joined and checked it out.  It's currently in "maintenance" mode but, when/if the time comes, I should be able to start it back up and rearrange things to be useful for all fans of music appreciation and music creation.

I definitely wasn't too happy to check in this morning to see this news!

If any of the Bakers has an idea of when the lights will be turned off, I'd love an advance notice so I can get to work and see if it's viable.

Sounds good, but how do we know that this isn't what you're really thinking?

good luck on getting any kind of advance notice.  More than likely, you'll come here to check out the posts in the CH and you'll get one of those 404 errors.... website address not found, please check your spelling and try again.

It's been one hell-of-a ride.

After thinking about this, I think you should only do this as a contingency until we find a better solution.

The problem is that nobody other than some of us would actually go there and it would eventually die away slowly.

Which would be really depressing.

What we need is a place that both supports carrying the - er - unique culture we have here while still being able to attract some gnu blood to keep things going.

Surely you're not suggesting that re-hashing the same tired jokes over and over gets boring?

There'd be no one to gripe about without hosts.
