Sonar mp3

I can't place an mp3 in a playlist after I encoded it from wav file. Please help. File types don't even show a mp3 choice

mp3 is not a choice because the playlist feature only works with project, MIDI and bundle files.

It did on sonar two. I used it to play live with backing tracks of mp3 on playlist
