Hi Steve,

Sounds like the RAM is DDR2/667MHz
If the RAM speed is currently set to 800MHz, you're over-clocking the new RAM.
That's a problem... (if you're partial to stability)

Set the voltage for the RAM
Set the RAM timing (5 5 5 15)
Set the RAM multiplier so the final RAM speed is 667MHz

Hello and thank you.
To quote D Day, it's over. Wormer dropped the big one.
<G>
Actually so I reset everything as specified.
Made sure all chips were identical.
Saved BIOS changes.
Powered up.
Nada.
No boot at all after many tries.

Time to reset BIOS the hard way. Unplugged and yanked the battery waited nearly 30 minutes put in all 4 chips and got the three beeps.
Powered down and repeated 5 or 6 times eadch to a new bad result. Continuous fan or hanging "windows is starting" or start system repair then hang.

Sigh.

Took out two of the sticks and it boots right up.
Crucial is baffled, but one of them said he's heard something about the Northbridge MB and a voltage spike at startup but remembered little else.

I don't think there are any more things to try.

I need to get this project done before I go through the living hell of reinstalling all the programs and downloading whatever crap I need for the V 700.
But it looks like the new box is going to be necessary sooner than I'd hoped.

Thanks for all your help!!!!!!!!!
