120g ocz vertex3 just failed. Bought JUne 6, 2012 and used as backup system disk. That means I used synctoy on it every two days or so and cloned the main disk to it twice a month or so. No other read/writes since the main disk, which is 2 years old, never failed. That doesn't seem like a lot of activity for a new drive.

Just sent note to OCZ to see if I get a replacement.

Sadly, OCZ is generally one of the SSD vendors known for quality control issues.

FWIW, Scott at ADK in the past has suggested either IBM, or Crucial when purchasing an SSD.

Intel, Crucial, Samsung... even Top Power if you can find them 10 yr warranty (usually not sold retail)
  NEVER never OCZ

Too late for me... I went the ocz route in memory and ssd's. Have 4 other ocz ssd's... got good deal on them. At least ocz is replacing this one quickly.

I didn't know either and bought an OCZ Vertex 4.  I haven't seen as much about failures on the Vertex 4 but I've got my fingers crossed.  I'm using it as my Win 8 drive (I have a dual boot Win 7 on one drive and Win 8 on the OCZ).  My "operational" system is the Win 7 so if the Win 8 were to fail other than the drive failing its not a major issue.
