Heck, I want a synthesizer ... anyone got one in the garage they want to let go for $10?
Offered in the spirit of FWIW:
I've been thinking about selling my Kurzweil K2000RS VAST synth (rack, sampling option, with Pop and Orchestral sound blocks, V3 s/w). It comes with an Apple CD drive, cartridge drive, and a bunch cartridges and sound CDs. It's been in my studio unused, at least since my heart attack/transplant event. It's only downside: it's got a dim screen (which is easily replaced). It's probably out of your price range @$300.
He's obviously looking for one that's half-VAST.
More like one for a beginner ... I'm not sure I could figure out my way around a VCS3, for example, or even a Prophet-5 ... but I seem to do OK just fiddling with the Arturia software for the Jupiter, although I have to make sure I save things, because I would not know, at this point, how to get back to them, and that is part of the problem ... I think, not knowing what all the filters do and having a better knowledge of their pathing and work.
So far, that software is really nice, but it really is advanced, as opposed to being good help for beginners, and that's kind of my issue. I would like to be able to start with a noise and bring it up from there, and have a slight tutorial of some of the things that can be done with one sound ... there are some in the internet, but they are on every different synth you can think of, and it is really confusing ... to get going, which is the reason why I have asked for some help here and there, which would include Sonar in the whole thing for a beginner ... I still can't get around Sonar properly, as the tutorials are not for beginners, either! I spring some dollars for the book, and got to page 100, and still can't get anywhere ... the whole thing does not start with the easiest thing of all ... let's plug this in and record it ... or just open this and now do this and then do this ... kind of thing ... heck, learning to use a bicycle was easier for me!
