Maybe I'm missing something?   In order to write a midi track for a transposing instrument, Bb clarinet, say, I have to open the inspector, find a little box that says "Key" ??? and then either mouse drag or cursor up/down to get a transposition?   Would it be that big a deal to allow numeric input, and get rid of the label "key"?    In a typical 60-staff orchestral work, you need to set clarinets, horns, saxes if used, double bass, plus others like Eb clarinet, english horn, etc etc.   "Mousing" a number with a slider is a really awkward thing to do, and the clarinet needs exactly two semitones transposition, not "approximately 2".

And please, feature suggestion, put this back in the track "mix" fields, along with volume, pan, Vel+ (whatever that is).

Hi William

Recently you have pretty much flooded the forum with feature requests that sound more like complaints and vice versa. Judging by the amount of your posts you probably have a secretary typing all that for you ... or at your DAW ... or your day is longer than ours ...

Anyway, not everything that does not fit your current workflow is necessarily a big issue to other users and needs to be reprogrammed ... I reckon that may be a reason why there's so few people jumping in ... that and possibly the wording of your posts ... people who come here seeking advice are generously helped. Those who come here mainly to vent are largely ignored. you see a pattern???

So, if you would have asked ... I would have told you that this particular key setting has a place where it belongs to by software design (i.e. MIDI parameters). If you would take advantage of "modern" Sonar features like track templates, you would only ever have to use that awkward like mouse slider once per instrument and then forget about it ... well, you did not ask, so I can't tell ya ...

I'm not getting what the problem is, the inspector gives you a transpose slider which goes up and down in semitones.

1. Click on Key+ (Key Offset) field to focus it.
2. Enter, 2, Enter.

P.S. You've been using Cakewalk/Sonar for how long and you don't know that Vel+ is Velocity Offset?

FWIW you can enter numeric values. Click in the "Key+" box, press F2 and type in the numeric value.
